Website Analytics with IONOS WebAnalytics and Jetpack Stats
IONOS provides WebAnalytics as a standard feature of its hosting service. Depending on the configuration, data is collected through server log files or a tracking pixel.
The information analysed may include pages accessed, access times, browser and device information, and the previously visited website.
According to IONOS, WebAnalytics does not use cookies for its visitor statistics. The provider states that IP addresses are anonymised after transmission. However, the processing involved in the initial technical collection and transmission of data must be distinguished from the subsequent anonymised statistical analysis.
The analysis is used to optimise the website technically and assess how it is used.
Where personal data is processed during technical data collection, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. My legitimate interest is to analyse website usage and improve the website.
Jetpack Stats
In addition to IONOS WebAnalytics, this website uses Jetpack Stats, an analytics service provided by Automattic Inc. (USA).
Jetpack Stats is used to analyse website usage. The data collected includes page views, visitor numbers, referring websites, outbound link clicks, and visitors’ countries of origin and search terms, where available.
Automattic processes data including IP addresses, browser information, URLs accessed, referrers, timestamps and language information. Additional account information may be processed for users logged into WordPress.com.
According to the provider, statistical log data, including IP addresses, is retained for 28 days. INK media receives statistical reports only and has no access to individual visitors’ IP addresses.

Jetpack Stats is managed through the Complianz consent management system. Statistical tracking is activated only after you have given your consent.
The legal basis for this processing is Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. Consent for storage and access operations requiring consent is obtained in accordance with Section 25(1) of the German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act (TDDDG).
Data may be transferred to the United States when this service is used.
